The role of the follower in Nation building - (a case study of Nigeria)

The follower has the most important role in our nation building but the unfortunate thing is that we the followers do not realize this common fact and have rather left ourselves at the mercy of our leaders, whom we have entrusted with the running of our country's affairs, and by that, are meant to be answerable to us, ofcourse without the followers there will not be leadership, a leader needs followers to be able to lead, as we all know a tree can not make a forest.

Without doubt leadership has been an issue in the life of our beloved country, in the fifty years of our country's exsistance, the issue of leadership has been of major concern and that explains the reason why Nigeria with her great natural endownments is still counted as a thirth world country, amongst the countries with the least per capita income, with a deplorable healthcare systerm and above all amongst the world's poorest countries, having said this, one will easily blame this failure on leadership, which is however correct, but in all honesty this blame shouldn't go totally to leadership alone, but also to us the followers because we delibrately refused to asume our rightful position as stakeholders.

It is therefore pertinent for us all to rally together in a very sensible manner to form the much needed voice require to make the needed impact in the running of our affairs and  be able to contibute effectively in choosing our leaders, our greatest strength i believe is our population, in addition we have one of the best human resource in the whole wide world, lets come together and make our country great.
